ERICK AVARI (actor; USA/India)

Erick Avari is an Indian-American actor. He was born in the Indian town of Darjeeling, situated in the foothills of the Himalayas. In the 1980s, he relocated to the USA and began his career in theater, later transitioning to film.

He quickly demonstrated the breadth of his acting range, spanning from soap operas to dramas. A notable role that garnered attention from audiences was Kasuf, the leader of the natives on the planet Abydos in Roland Emmerich's film STARGATE. Alongside Alexis Cruz, he was one of the few actors to reprise his role in the similarly titled follow-up TV series STARGATE SG-1.

He played significant characters in other films such as THE MUMMY, DAREDEVIL, PLANET OF THE APES, INDEPENDENCE DAY, MR. DEEDS, HACHI: A DOG'S TALE, 13th WARRIOR, and more.

Avari has also appeared in numerous TV series, often in just one or a few episodes, including HEROES, THE X-FILES, WAREHOUSE 13, GRIMM, STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE, STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE, STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION, THE SEAQUEST DSV, BABYLON 5, etc.

Due to his exotic background and, to some extent, his appearance, Erick Avari has portrayed countless roles representing characters of various nationalities throughout his career.
