Charlie Schlatter is an American actor and voice performer raised in Englewood and Fair Lawn, New Jersey. He first discovered his passion for acting at Fair Lawn High School—reportedly auditioning for a school production of Oliver! simply to impress a girl, only to land the title role of Oliver Twist. He later attended Ithaca College, earning a B.F.A. in Musical Theatre. During this time, he appeared in numerous stage productions, developed his skills as a musician (playing guitar, drums, and piano), and began writing his own songs.

In 1990, Schlatter was cast in the lead role of the NBC sitcom Ferris Bueller, based on the hit film Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

In 1994, he appeared as the main protagonist, Cadet Kyle Connors, in Police Academy: Mission to Moscow.

From 1995 onward, Schlatter portrayed Dr. Jesse Travis opposite Dick Van Dyke in the long-running television series Diagnosis: Murder, remaining on the show for six seasons. During his time on the series, he also wrote the episode “A Resting Place.” Following the show’s conclusion, he and Van Dyke have remained close friends.

Alongside his on-screen work, Schlatter has built an extensive voice-acting career since the early 1990s. He voiced The Flash in Superman: The Animated Series and The Batman, and reprised the role in Batman Unlimited: Animal Instincts.

In the world of video games, Schlatter voiced Major Raikov in Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, as well as characters in Ape Escape 3, Sorcery, and EverQuest II. He also voiced Robin and reprised his role as The Flash in Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, Lego Batman: The Movie – DC Super Heroes Unite, Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, and Lego Dimensions.

With a career spanning television, film, animation, and video games, Charlie Schlatter has established himself as a versatile performer recognized for both his live-action roles and his distinctive voice work.
