Rick Cosnett is a Zimbabwean-Australian actor and producer who grew up on a farm in Chegutu, Zimbabwe. Raised in a family actively involved in community musical theatre, he discovered his passion for performing at an early age. At seventeen, he moved with his family to Queensland, Australia, where he later studied at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting after initially receiving a scholarship for music.
Cosnett is best known to audiences worldwide as Detective Eddie Thawne from the hit DC series The Flash. Fans of supernatural drama may also recognize him as the brilliant yet sinister Professor Wes Maxfield from season five of The Vampire Diaries.
His career spans theatre, television, and film, with his first TV breakthrough in Forensic Investigators. He has since appeared in numerous productions, including recurring roles in Quantico as Elias Harper, 9-1-1 as Julian Enes, Doctor Odyssey as Corey, and guest appearances in Castle and NCIS: Origins.
Beyond acting, Rick Cosnett is also a trained classical musician and singer, bringing a unique depth and versatility to every role he takes on.
