Vincent Regain is an English film and television actor. He was born in Swansea, Glamorgan, Wales. He attended St Joseph's College, Ipswich. When his parents returned to Ireland in 1983, he went to London and studied at Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in London.
He first gained wider recognition on British television in 1992 with his appearance in London’s Burning. Since then, Regan has become widely known for portraying commanding, authoritative characters—often warriors, leaders, and kings—across historical epics, fantasy productions, and major studio films.
Among his most notable film roles are Captain Artemis, Leonidas' trusted second-in-command in 300 (2006), Eudorus, Achilles’ the closest friend in Troy (2004), and King Cepheus in Clash of the Titans (2010). His filmography also includes roles such as Ferenc Nádasdy in Bathory, Alex in the sci-fi action thriller Lockout, and King Atlan in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023).
In recent years, Vincent Regan has reached a new generation of fans through high-profile television roles. He appears as Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp in Netflix’s live-action adaptation of One Piece, and as Ser Rickard Thorne, Queen Alicent’s sworn protector, in HBO’s hit series House of the Dragon.
