BILLY BOYD (actor; United Kingdom)
Guest appearance: Saturday 14. March and Sunday 15. March 2026
Billy Boyd is a British (Scottish) actor and musician. He was born in Glasgow and worked as a bookbinder for six years before pursuing an acting career. After graduating from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, he went on to perform with St Andrews Repertory and the Traverse Theatre.
He made his early television appearances in the long-running crime series Taggart, but his international breakthrough came with the role of Peregrin “Pippin” Took in The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001–2003). Beyond acting, Boyd also contributed musically to the franchise—he co-wrote the melody and performed the song “The Edge of Night”, featured in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. The song was later used in the trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014). Boyd also wrote and performed “The Last Goodbye”, which plays during the end credits of the film.
In 2004, Boyd appeared as Glen and Glenda, the offspring of Chucky (Brad Dourif) and Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly), in the cult horror film Seed of Chucky. He reprised the role in the second-season finale of the TV series Chucky in 2022.
His diverse filmography also includes the historical epic Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, where he portrayed Barret Bonden, and the popular series Outlander, in which he appeared as Gerald Forbes. More recently, Boyd returned to Middle-earth with a cameo role as Shank in the animated film The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.
Billy Boyd fronts a band called Beecake.
