Craig Fairbrass is an English actor, producer, and screenwriter. He was born in London and grew up in Stepney. After being expelled from Eaglesfield Boys Comprehensive School in Woolwich at the age of 15, he successfully auditioned for the National Youth Theatre. He subsequently began looking for a talent agent while supporting himself by working as a roofer during the day and as a nightclub doorman in the evenings.
After several years of small walk-on roles, Fairbrass made his first significant television appearance in the 1984 BBC series Big Deal. Further film and television roles quickly followed. In 1991, he traveled to Los Angeles, where he secured his first Hollywood role in action blockbuster Cliffhanger, starring alongside Sylvester Stallone.
In February 2007, he appeared as the renegade Jaffa Arkad in the final season of Stargate SG-1. That same year, he starred as real-life gangster Pat Tate in Rise of the Footsoldier. In 2017, Fairbrass reprised his role as Pat Tate in Rise of the Footsoldier 3: The Pat Tate Years, a prequel to the original 2007 film. The performance is widely regarded as one of the strongest of his career and earned him the Best Actor award at the 2018 National Film Awards in London. He later returned as Pat Tate in Rise of the Footsoldier: Marbella, Rise of the Footsoldier: Origins, and Rise of the Footsoldier: Vengeance.
In the world of video games, Fairbrass is also well known for his voice work. Between 2007 and 2016, he voiced several characters in the Call of Duty franchise, most notably Gaz in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Simon “Ghost” Riley in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. He also voiced the lead character George Mason in Battlefield V.
In recent years, Craig Fairbrass has reached a new generation of fans thanks to his prominent role as Zeff in the globally successful Netflix live-action series One Piece. His appearance in the show has significantly increased his visibility among younger audiences and anime fans worldwide, further cementing his status as a versatile actor capable of moving seamlessly between classic British crime dramas, Hollywood action films, video games, and major streaming productions.
